The Project Brief
Listening before drawing a single line.
The client, a prominent scholar and collector, required room for over 3,000 volumes, an ergonomic writing station, and an atmosphere evocative of ancient European libraries yet adapted to Andhra's climate.
Designed within a multi-generational residence in Guntur, The Moss Room provides deep acoustic quiet and introspective retreat from the energetic bustle outside.
The Architectural Approach
Form follows climate, texture, and light.
We lined the walls with floor-to-ceiling smoked walnut bookshelves tinted with organic olive-moss pigments. Acoustic linen batts hidden behind textured fabric panels absorb all echo, producing a chamber of pure hush.

- ✓Temperature and humidity stabilized book vault with hidden glass doors
- ✓Monolithic cantilevered walnut writing desk with integrated wire management
- ✓Surround sound acoustic dampening rated to STC 55 for complete quiet
